Long-term storage of seeds takes place in special refrigerated chambers. The storage of pine and spruce seeds requires temperature from 0° to minus 2°C, and constant air humidity in the range of 40-50% (not more than 70%), at which they are in a state of almost complete dormancy. Lowering of temperature as well as air humidity leads to slowing down of vital activity processes and consumption of reserve nutrients, which preserves their high bioenergetic level.
