The device is designed for de-coating seeds of forest trees, mainly pine and spruce. The process of seed de-wetting takes place in a rotating drum using pressurized water.  This method utilizes the phenomenon of the wings drying faster than the seeds, causing them to shrink and fall off the seeds.

   A carefully conducted seed de-winging process ensures optimal seed quality for storage or for precision sowing in forest nurseries.
