   The process of growing containerized seedlings in greenhouses is divided into three main periods: the initial period (germination period), the period of rapid growth, and the hardening off period. The initial period is from seed germination to the appearance of true needles and root growth throughout the cell. During the period of rapid growth, seedlings grow intensively in height, rapidly increase in mass and build up the assimilation apparatus (needles). The hardening period begins after the apex bud is set, radial growth of the trunk and root growth continues, and seedlings receive cold hardening. To grow quality planting material, it is necessary to use advanced modern technologies and equipment.

 

  Industrial greenhouses with two-layer swept film are used for growing seedlings. The most popular sizes for these purposes are greenhouses 12x100 m, 16x100 m and 25x100 m. The main advantages lie in the fact that between the layers of the film is formed air cushion, thus this system of covering allows you to significantly reduce heat loss at night and cold time, and also serves as protection against wind and snow loads.

 

  The main necessary equipment in the greenhouse for growing seedlings are: overhead ventilation system, ramp watering, shading system, heating system and automation system. In addition, mortar units, pre-lighting systems, fog-forming watering are used.
